Work zone safety and increased production were the results our company achieved with the BarrelMover 5000. While working on a 60,000 ton mill and fill project in Grant County, Kentucky on I-75, we were looking for a way to speed up our traffic control, when Kyle Ruby introduced us to the BarrelMover 5000. Within a week we were able to mill and pave an extra hour per shift, increasing our production as much as 175 tons per night, due to the quickness of putting out and taking down single and double lane closures using the BarrelMover 5000. We think it's a great product for worker safety, due to the work being done from a pick up truck and it is also very labor efficient.

In the March issue of AsphaltPro I was doing some research looking for safety articles when I came across the article on the Barrel Mover 5000. I read the article which lead me to go to the vendor’s website. When I got to the vendors website I was able to watch a video that was recorded on the Barrel Mover 5000. I thought this was the best safety invention in a long time. I reached out to the vendor for the Barrel Mover 5000 and found out they were going to have a booth at the World of Asphalt Convention. We had Project Managers and Superintendents signed up to go to the convention so I asked Randy Ramsey our Highway Superintendent to reach out to the vender while there. He stopped at the booth and arranged to have the vendor come to our yard and conduct a hands on demonstration moving barrels and cones. We found the demonstration and information very informative and ended up purchasing the piece of equipment on the spot.

We have used the Barrel Mover 5000 several times on our public highway jobs. It now keeps our employees safely inside the cab of a pickup truck and out of danger. They no longer have to stand in the middle of the road when moving barrels to setup traffic control.
